Dumplings

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 cup shortning
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/3 cup dry milk
  • 3/4 cup water or milk
  • Directions:

    Mix all dry ingredients together. Cut in shortning. Add liquid until mixed. Drop by spoonfuls into broth or stew. Boil uncovered for 10 minutes. Cover and cook through (about 10 minutes longer).
